【Our Brand Story】

"Tsih Koo Soo" originates from our beloved hometown—Tainan. Since the construction of Fort Zeelandia in Anping in 1624, Tainan will mark its 400th anniversary in 2024. This milestone not only symbolizes Taiwan’s 400-year journey onto the global stage but also highlights its status as one of the island’s oldest cities. Tainan, a city bearing the weight of Taiwan’s history, has undergone the historical transitions of Dutch rule, the Ming Zheng period, Qing governance, Japanese colonization, and the post-war era. Each period has left behind unique stories and cultural landscapes. Despite these changes, what remains unchanged is our sincere love for this city.

To reflect the traditional Japanese charm of Tainan, the brand identity of "Tsih Koo Soo" is inspired by the city emblem from the Japanese colonial period, incorporating the concept of a family crest. The design cleverly uses the character "古" (meaning "old") through the imagery of traditional old house architecture. The framework is formed with iron window grille lines, symbolizing the brand’s role in connecting the past and the present, bridging history and modernity. The color palette features indigo and yellow oak, paired with the hues of wooden old houses and aged tiles, evoking a strong sense of history and nostalgia. The aim is to convey the memory of the times, cultural values, and emotional warmth. The design also blends elements of alleyway buildings, local hospitality, street food, and the sea, collectively portraying the diverse aspects of Tainan’s historical cityscape.
